The Utah State Retirement Systems provide retirement benefits only to employees with four (4) or more years of service credit as a member of the system. TIAA-CREF participants are “vested” in the retirement program immediately upon their employment at the University of Utah. Policy: 2-42 Rev: 6, Retirement Programs, provides details regarding the differences between the two retirement programs. Hospital employees should refer to http://www.hr.utah.edu for more info.
