What are the requirements for North Carolina residency for tuition purposes and how can I change my current classification?
Fayetteville State University adheres to the University of North Carolina’s administrative policy governing residential status as outlined in the publication, A Manual to Assist the Public Higher Education Institutions of North Carolina in the Matter of Student Residence Classification for Tuition Purposes. Copies of the manual are available at the Office of Admissions, the Student Government Office, and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. Students are responsible for being familiar with the contents of the manual and for informing the Office of Admissions of any changes in their residency status. Students wishing to register a change in their residency status or to appeal a classification may file the appropriate application form (North Carolina Public Higher Education Residence and Tuition States Application) with the Office of Admissions.
