What are the requirements for me to participate in an After School Matters program?
You must: 1) be a teen between the ages of 14 and 18 years of age — youth with special needs are eligible up to age 21; 2) be a resident of the City of Chicago; 3) provide evidence of a Social Security number or Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN). If you do not have these documents, in some cases, you may elect to audit the program (participate without receiving a stipend). 4) You must interview for the program and be accepted.
You must: 1) be at least 14 years of age and currently enrolled in a Chicago Public Schools high school (*a limited number of opportunities are available to teens who attend Chicago Public Schools selective enrollment high schools and private schools). Teens entering their freshman year of high school are eligible to participate during the summer before they begin high school. Youth with special needs are eligible up to age 21. Interns must be at least 16 years of age. 2) be a resident of the City of Chicago; 3) provide evidence of a Social Security number or Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN).
