What are the requirements for homes built prior to 1960 or homes that are over 25 years old?
Homeowners application: The Atlas 3 Homeowners application includes a section on Renovation/(Modernization Type, based on year built, that asks questions about the home’s major systems, and, for heating and roofing the year they were updated. These are key underwriting questions on older dwellings to ensure that these systems don’t unduly increase the exposure to loss. If the application is being submitted via ACORD, and the dwelling is more than 25 years old, the Modernization Section of the ACORD Homeowners application must also be completed.
