What are the requirements for drum remanufacturing?
The requirements for steel drum remanufacturing can be found in part I of CAN/CGSB-43.126. Drum remanufacturing consists of one or more of the following processes: • converting a UN 1A1 drum to a UN 1A2 • replacing an integral structural component • creating one or more new rolling hoops • converting the drum from one specification to another A remanufactured drum design in which the head is removed and the edge of the drum body beaded to accept an open-head cover and ring must be tested in accordance with the requirements specified in Table 2 and Section 9 of CAN/CGSB-43.150 and registered by Transport Canada as a new design.
