What are the requirements for certification in Geriatric Medicine?
Family physicians must be certified by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) and must be Diplomates in good standing in order to apply for and take any CAQ examination. Diplomates must hold a current, valid and unrestricted medical license, and must qualify by satisfactory completion of an ACGME accredited fellowship training program in Geriatric Medicine. Also required are the formal online application, appropriate exam fee and successful performance on the one-day computer based examination.
