What are the requirements for cattle going to agistment?
Cattle going to agistment must be tagged and transferred in the NLIS database from the property of origin to the agistment (destination) PIC, and transferred back when they return to their home property. Carrying out the transfer is the responsibility of the receiver of the cattle. However, as with all property to property transfers, this may be negotiated with the owner of the cattle and may be carried out by a third party. If cattle are sold off the agistment property through saleyards or abattoirs, the transfer will be completed by the saleyard or slaughterhouse.
