What are the requirements for becoming a RN?
There are basically two routes – either a 2 year associate’s degree or a 4 year bachelor’s degree. Either one will allow you to sit for your licensure exam. With the two year program, you need to complete pre requisites in biology, chemistry, anatomy & physiology, etc. for most programs. Sometimes high school AP courses count – bring your high school transcripts and ask your college’s admissions reps when you meet with them. Otherwise you might need a semester or two of these classes before you can apply to the school’s nursing program. It’s a competative field to get into no matter what school you attend, so hopefully you’ve kept high GPA and had a good score on the ACT / SAT.
