What are the requirements for admittance to the Department of Mechanical Engineering?
As a potential graduate student, you must meet the minimum requirements for admission to LSU’s Graduate School before being considered for admission into the Mechanical Engineering graduate program. The admission requirements of the department are in addition to those of the Graduate School, and are generally more restrictive. Typically, a minimum undergraduate or master’s grade-point average of 3.0 (“A” = 4.0) and a GRE (verbal + quantitative) score of 1200 are required. The TOEFL (minimum requirement for Graduate School is 550 for paper-based exam, or 213 for computer-based exam) is also considered for admittance.
