What are the requirements for admission?
The main admission requirement for our certificate programs is that studentshave at least a High School diploma orequivalent. Work experience and other schooling also help as students gothrough the courses, but are not a prerequisite foradmission.The main reason we ask applicants to enumerate their education and workexperience (see the online application form) is sothat we can construct classes that are as diverse as possible. A joint admissions committee representing both schools evaluates each application on the basis of professional achievement, academic ability and personal attributes. • Professional Experience. The application includes a detailed work history. Successful candidates present a record of significant achievement and demonstrated leadership ability. • Academic Preparation. Transcripts from all prior institutions of higher education are required. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree; international applicants must have an equivalent degree from a recognized institution. We do not accept transfer credit. • GMAT. The Graduate Management Admission Test is required for admission. Candidates must arrange testing and score reporting with the Graduate Management Admission Council at www.mba.com. Requirements for admission are the degree of Bachelor of Arts or its equivalent, a distinguished academic record, and high competence in the foreign language(s) relevant for the particular field. (If you will do language study between the time of the application and the start of the PhD program, please note this in your statement of purpose.) Students seeking admission to FISK must apply by the appropriate deadlines. A student applying must have completed 15 or more units in grades 9-12, at least 12 of which must be in academic subjects. FISK University is particularly interested in students who have taken the strongest of academic programs in their high school. Students who have been home-schooled should submit a transcript or record. Prospective students with a GED must provide evidence of successful completion (scores). The student’s course curriculum should include four units of English, three units of mathematics (algebra, geometry, and advanced algebra and trigonometry are strongly recommended), two units of the same foreign language, two years of social studies and two years of science (preferably biology and chemistry) including a lab.
