What are the requirements for admission to the Master of Arts program?

Admission is limited and competitive. To be considered for admission an applicant shall hold a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a recognized institution and should have knowledge of the proposed field of specialization satisfactory to the Department (or Departments, when interdisciplinary study is intended) and to the Dean of Graduate Studies. Preference will normally be given to applicants who hold an appropriate Bachelor’s degree. The minimum undergraduate grade average of incoming students in recent years has been 75 percent, however this does not guarantee admission. An applicant may be required to demonstrate a satisfactory knowledge of the proposed field of study. Instruction is in English, and examinations and theses are to be written in English.
