What are the requirements for admission to the Law School?

The standard entry requirements for the LL.B. are ABBBB at Higher (including Higher English) or BBB at A Level (plus GCSE English at B). Where Highers or A levels are taken at more than one sitting then the standard requirement is AABBB at Higher or ABB at A level. Applicants are discouraged from re-taking a Higher or A level in order to attain a better grade on the second attempt. It is better to attempt a different subject. Applicants should aim to offer a broad mix of literary subjects such as English, Modern Studies and History, but the value of logic based subjects such as Maths and the Sciences is fully recognised. Additionally, Law with Languages students must have either a B (at Higher or at GCSE) in the language they wish to study. We also accept non-standard qualifications on a discretionary basis.
