What are the requirements concerning the Child Restraint Law?
Florida Statute 316.613: The vehicle operated on the roadways, streets, or highways of this state shall provide protection of a child 5 years of age or younger by using a crash tested, federally approved child restraint. For children aged through three years, such device must be a separate carrier or a vehicle manufacturer’s integrated child seat. For children aged 4 through 5 years, a separate carrier, an integrated child seat, or seat belt may be used. Additionally, a child may be placed forward in his/her car seat when the child reaches one year of age and 20 pounds unless child was premature.
