What are the relaxation exercises like and how much time does it take to practice?
A. The relaxation is totally enjoyable. HypnoBirthing has a wonderful CD called the “Rainbow Relaxation” which lasts about 20 minutes and leaves you feeling refreshed as though you have had an hour’s nap. There are also “Affirmations” which you should lis-ten to several times a day as you go about your daily routines. Practicing with your birth companion also takes about 20 minutes and allows you and your birth companion to learn which techniques work best for you. In these hectic times, it is a wonderful gift that you are giving yourself to sit or lie down and relax for 20 minutes. Because your baby is experiencing your world through you, relaxation is also a gift you’re giving your baby.
