What are the regulatory acts that govern the functioning of the commodities futures contracts?

0

Commodities Futures Contracts are traded on the Commodity Exchanges recognised by the Forward Markets Commission (FMC). FMC is the apex regulatory body governing the functioning of the commodity Exchanges under the powers vested with it under the Forward Contracts Regulation Act, 1952 (FC(R)A) and Forward Contracts Regulation Rules, 1954 (FC(R)R). Moreover, the commodity Exchanges are also governed by the provisions of their Articles, Rules, Bye Laws and Regulations which are in consonance with the overall requirements of the FC(R)A and FC(R)R and this is ensured by FMC, while approving the Rules and Bye Laws of the Exchanges.
