What are the regulations on swimming pools?
If someone wants to build a swimming pool, the process is the same as applying for any zoning permit and the construction must conform to the town’s zoning laws regarding setbacks and lot usage. Plans are also checked for distance to wells, septic fields and wetlands. The state building codes have additional requirements for safety including fencing.
