What are the records of the four NFC North teams since the NFL realigned its divisions in 2002?
Rob Dubuque, Iowa In the eight seasons since the NFL realigned into eight four-team divisions, the Bears have the third-best record in the NFC North at 63-65. Green Bay (74-54) is first, followed by Minnesota (68-60). Detroit (31-97) is a distant fourth. Division titles have been won by the Packers in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2007; the Bears in 2005 and 2006; and the Vikings in 2008 and 2009. In terms of records in division games, Green Bay is on top at 32-16, followed by Minnesota (30-18), the Bears (25-23) and Detroit (9-39). I read that Tim Shaw’s 30 special-teams tackles were the most ever by a Bear. Whose record did he beat? Ronald K. Elmhurst, Illinois Tim Shaw’s 30 special-teams tackles eclipsed the Bears record of 28 that was set by Adrian Peterson in 2004 and equaled by both Brendon Ayanbadejo and Cameron Worrell in 2006. It’s important to note that the marks only go back to 1995 when the Bears started tracking special-teams tackles.
