What are the recommended specifications for my PC?
For a STAFF PC to be used for creating VLE courses, we can make the following recommendation: Platform: Windows 95, 98, 2000, NT, or ME; MacOS 9 or MacOS X Hardware: 64 MB of RAM, 200 MB of free disk space Software: Microsoft Office 97(+), Adobe Acrobat Reader Browser: Internet Explorer 5.5 or 6.0 (recommended) or Netscape 4.78 – JavaScript & Cookies must be enabled. Network: 56 K modem or Local Area Network The minimum specifications for a STUDENT PC to interact with the VLE are typically: (This specification should allow general access to the VLE, but advanced features such as streaming video may not be accessible) Platform: Windows 95, 98, 2000, NT, or ME; MacOS 9 or MacOS X Hardware: 32 MB of RAM, 50MB of free disk space Software: Microsoft Office Readers (available free), Adobe Acrobat Reader (also free) Browser: Internet Explorer 4/Netscape 4 (or greater) – JavaScript & Cookies must be enabled.
