Our web-site sets out the requirements for those officers moving in from out of state. Those requirements are as follows: 1) Illinois Mandatory Firearms (40 hrs). An Abbreviated Mandatory Firearms Course of 4 Hours may be offered for those who qualify. 2) Illinois Law for Police or Illinois Law Review Course (40 hrs.) This course is offered through the local Mobile Team Units (In-service providers) or on-line. Instructions for this course will be outlined in a letter to the employer. 3) Equivalency Exam (200 question, multiple choice) 3.5 hours for completion.
