What are the recent accomplishments of the Public Health Network?
The Network is moving forward with several inter-jurisdictional agreements: Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) related to mutual aid during an emergency and the sharing of information during a public health emergency are ready for F/P/T Ministers of Health signature. In addition, the Network has provided technical and policy advice with respect to the National Antivirals Stockpile, recommendations concerning the use of Antivirals for Prophylaxis, and has also developed the Canadian Pandemic Influenza Plan for the Health Sector, which is updated on a continual basis. The Public Health Network has accomplished a great deal since its creation in April 2005, and is assisting governments and other public health partners in providing a high quality, efficient and responsive public health system for Canadians.
