What Are the Reasons Why I Am Suffering From Insomnia?
There are many different reasons for insomnia ranging from psychological reasons to simple aches and pains. The causes are so varied that without consulting a doctor it may be difficult for you to ascertain exactly what the cause may be. There are a few basic categories of causes for this very common sleep disorder. 1. Mental conditions – These include depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). These above listed conditions can be categorized as mental illnesses or disorders, but the mental condition that could cause insomnia does not need to be that severe. Emotional states that we have all experienced like: stress, mental tension, fear and basic anxiety can all lead to insomnia. 2. Drugs – This cause makes a lot of sense. Anything that you put in your body that stimulates the brain can have an adverse effect on your sleep schedule. I’m sure you have experienced a night when you drank one too many cups of coffee and had
