Hurriyet’s average daily circulation dropped to 521,000 in the first 9 months of 2008, compared to 591,000 during the same period in 2007. Last year, the circulation was inflated due to the give-away type of promotions offered with the newspaper, especially during the week-ends. This year, the promotion activities slowed-down considerably, leading to the normalization of the circulation figures.
