Adverse effects of laser refractive surgery that occur less than 1% of the time included blurred vision, cataract formation, defects in the corneal surface, scarring of the cornea, ulceration, infection, dryness, foreign body sensation, ghosting of images, irregular corneal curvature, cysts in the outer corneal layer, discomfort, light sensitivity, droopiness of the eyelid, or problems with reading.
