What are the qualifications of Consultants, Trainers, Advisors, and Coaches?
There are thousands of people on the Internet and in the phone book calling themselves “Consultants”, “Trainers”, “Advisors” and “Coaches”. There is no one regulatory agency governing these professionals as there is with therapists, physicians, or any other well-established fields. Because there is no required certification, there are many unqualified individuals giving advice to unsuspecting clients who pay good money for “professional” advice; only to receive advice that is as sophisticated as advice from the next-door neighbor.
