The Police Officer position requires that an individual complete the P.O.S.T academy training, with the Lateral Police Officer position requiring the applicant to have previous experience. Police Officer Trainee doesnt require the completion of the P.O.S.T. academy training, and applicants do not need to have any previous experience. The City will also pay for the applicant to attend the academy while paying him or her a salary at the same time.
