Applicants must be no less than 21 years of age nor have attained the 32nd birthday at the date of appointment and must be a citizen of the United States. Applicants must have official proof of a college transcript of at least 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours, where a grade of ‘C’ or better has been attained; or documented evidence of current State of Ohio Paramedic Certification or National Paramedic Certification. In addition, the applicant must show evidence of EMT-Basic Certification. Within six months from the date of appointment, the applicant must be a bona fide resident of Cuyahoga County, except that said person may reside outside the county if his/her residence is located in those parts of Lake, Geauga, Portage or Summit Counties bounded by Cuyahoga, the westerly side of Ohio State Highway No. 44 and the northerly side of the Ohio Turnpike.
