Benefits: – feeling like you have a meaning or purpose – having answers to the great mysteries of life, since science doesn’t answer everything – having a moral or psychological framework/context into which to place questions of right/wrong etc Drawbacks: – Can cause you to become closed minded or intolerant – Superstition If you keep thinking in a rational and scientific way and use religion to supplement the facts of the universe (science can’t answer questions like “what is my purpose” — that’s a job for religion), religion can help you to lead a more meaningful life. Keep what makes sense, discard what doesn’t!
