What are the pros and cons of mobile home park communities?
Pro’s: Cheaper cost of living on paper. Con’s: Mobile home parks have become a dumping ground for section 8 (welfare reciepients). Had almost daily/nightly visits from police due to all the drunks, druggies and other undesirables that lived there. Mobile homes depreciate like cars. Finding financing escpecially a used one will prove difficult and expensive. Mobile homes are firetraps. They can/will burn to the ground in less than 10 minutes. Many people loose their lives each year due to fires in mobilehomes. Mobile home appiances and repairs are expensive. Finding simple parts for sinks, electrical, flooring is also difficult and expensive. Finding a contractor to work on one is also difficult and expensive. You have all the same expenses you would for a standard home plus mobile homes are not well insulated. Expect to pay allot for your heating/cooling needs. You pay lot rent forever. In my case it was $450 a month for our doublewide. My house payment was $500 a month. I left after o
