I am looking into a career change and was contacted by Liberty Mutual for a position as an insurance agent. I am trying to weigh the pros and cons and just want to be sure I am not leaving anything out. It sounds like a good opportunity but I want to hear from those who are in the field to gain their opinions. Please be as honest as possible!!! Liberty is a national company…HUGE! They are heavy in Commercial products national wide. They are a direct writer…Meaning Liberty is what you have and liberty is it! You learn their broad based products and sell for them alone. You are given a position to start up probably a draw or Salary to start with then after you reach a “plateau” you are put on commission. (depends) I know that Liberty is a fine company and strong financially. I also know they require the Max from their producers and go after the “large” jumbo accounts. which they specialize in. $50m to $100M accounts.
