What are the Pros and Cons of a Dark Eldar Army for Warhammer 40,000?
Notwithstanding Brenton’s answer, the Dark Eldar, despite the age of their codex, are still very much a viable army choice, and I know several regular tournament players who enjoy success with variations of the Dark Eldar army list. The “Dark Lance” (a.k.a. lance spam) is an excellent mobile, anti-armour army. And the Wych Cult army is an excellent mobile assault army. Nevertheless, the main reason not to buy Dark Eldar now is because they will have a new codex in September. That’s right, folks. The internal fighting in GW between the Studio and Marketing has apparently been won by the Studio and the Grey Knights will NOT be replacing the Dark Eldar in the release schedule (as was rumoured a couple of weeks ago). So we get a new DE codex in September and the Grey Knights must wait until April 2011 (but this means the codex will be properly finished and balanced and not rushed into publication).
