IPSA made clear that the payment of pension contributions by MPs would not be at the detriment of the staffing budget; but the staffing budget provided, with pension contributions, will not be enough. IPSA is confident that the staffing budget is sufficient for the annual operation of an MP’s office. The budget has been calculated to allow for the costs of national insurance and other employer contributions based on a typical office set up of 3.5 members of staff.
