WHAT ARE THE PROPERTIES OF SERIES AND PARALLEL CIRCUIT?
In a series circuit, the same *current* is flowing through all connected devices. Open-circuit failure of any one will cut off the current through all the others. EXAMPLES: Christmas tree lights. Valve heaters in some old mains radios. In a parallel circuit, the same *voltage* is developed across all connected devices. Open-circuit failure of any one will not affect the others, but short-circuit failure will stop all the others from working. EXAMPLES: Domestic wiring.
