What are the properties of metallic compounds?
– unlike the localized electrons in covalent bonding, electrons in metallic bonding are delocalized, (moving freely throughout the piece of metal. – have moderatley high melting points because the metal ions remain attracted to the electron sea even if their relative positions change. -can be deformed because the electron sea prevents repulsions amoung the cations. -conduct electricity and heat because their electrons are mobile.
