What are the prongs of the EZEE WEAN strap made of?
The prongs have blunt ends and are made of flexible urethane material. The prongs function as an irritant to cause the mother to become uncomfortable. Also, there are two smaller prongs located on the profile flaps that cause discomfort to the foal each time he attempts to nurse. The baby self-inflicts its own discomfort. When the attempts stop, the discomfort stops (behavioral reward). Pretty natural, wouldn’t you say?
