What are the processing times?
In person In most cases, we provide same day processing to applicants who submit in person a complete Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) application at the Canadian Embassy in Abu Dhabi between 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. (sharp) on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays or Thursdays. NOTE: TRV applications for citizens of the countries listed in Question # 2.3 cannot be processed in less than 10 working days from the date the completed application is received in our office. By mail or courier A complete TRV application received by mail or courier will be finalised within a minimum of five (5) working days from the date the application is received in our office. However,TRV applications for citizens of the countries listed in Question # 2.3 cannot not be processed in less than 10 working days from the date the completed application is received in our office. We do not offer same-day service for Permanent Resident Travel Document (PRTD) applications. A complete PRTD application received in our office in person or by mail or courier is likely to be finalized within 10 working days. Please allow an additional 1-3 days for the return of your passport if you wish to receive it by courier. Example: An applicant submits a complete PRTD application by courier on Thursday, May 1, 2008. The processing time is 10 working days. This means if we receive the application in our office on Sunday, May 4, it will likely be finalized on Thursday, May 15. Once finalized, we will return the passport via courier on the same day. The courier company will contact the applicant either on Friday, May 16, or Saturday, May 17, for the return of your passport. Please note, however, that the processing times may vary from application to application, depending on the complexity and the need to do verifications. Some applications will take a longer time to process.
