What are the processes involved in thread tapping brass?

0

Tapping brass is the same as any other metal, it should be drilled to the proper size and depth . Generally 3/4 the thread size of the bolt you are installing, also very important that you start the tap very straight to the drilled hole, after the tap starts you back it off and then turn about 1/2 to 3/4 turn then turn back agian repeating until proper depth is reached. Be sure to use a good quality cutting fluid keeping the the cutting flukes soaked to prevent over heating of the tap.
