What are the prime duties of the government?
I am assuming you mean governments formed by and for the people of the country. Such would be the case in the democratic states of the world. And while such governments as Britain’s Government has more to it than most, it remains a government by and for the people of that country. Also it assumes the country is not perpetually at war. 1. Protect the good people from the bad people. 2. Protect the good people from bad businesses. And also.. 1. Protect the good businesses from the bad people. 2. Protect the good businesses from bad businesses. And finally, protect the organization (country) from bad people and bad countries. Laws then are formed by the government which delegate authority to lesser governments which can delegate to yet lesser governments.
