WHAT ARE THE PRIMARY THINGS TO AVOID THAT DROP THE FICO SCORES?
The number one most damaging item we see every day is new 30 day late payments. If a client has not had a late payment in over 10 months, then we can say for sure that it can lower your scores at least 80 points. Each subsequent late will drop the scores additional points until the scores are very low. New collection items typically lower the scores 30-35 points and paying these items can drop the scores too, but only temporarily. Even removing old collections from the report often drops the scores. This is very complicated and takes a good evaluation of the outcome before doing so. That is what we are here for.
