Cobar Public School was established in 1878 and has been providing a quality education to the children of Cobar from the years Kindergarten through to Year 6 and also offers Distance Education for the student living out of town. Though geographically isolated, Cobar Public School prides itself on being able to offer many opportunities to our students. In addition to instruction the six key learning areas, some of the opportunities available include participation in Primary School Sports Association knockouts; school choir; dance troupes; Special Religious Education; English, Science, Computer and Mathematics competitions; and the Outback Festival. The school is situated in well-maintained and attractive grounds. It has buildings ranging from the original schoolhouse to a modern computer laboratory.
