The Disto D8 has a tilt sensor with a range of 360 degrees while the Disto D5’s tilt sensor range is 45 degrees. With the increased range and enhanced accuracy of the Disto D8 tilt sensor, additional indirect measurements can be made. Another important difference (between the Disto D5 and D8 models) is that the Disto D8 includes the integrated Bluetooth technology that provides for seamless transmission of measurement data to a computer and/or PDA.
