To be eligible for the Certified Payroll Professional examination, one must have been practicing in the payroll profession a total of three years out of the preceding five years from the date of the examination, with direct involvement in any of the following: • payroll production and reporting • payroll administration • payroll education/consulting, with previous experience in the production • or administration of payroll How do I take the certification examination? The CPP exam consists of 180 multiple choice questions and 20 pre-test questions. Four hours are allotted to complete the exam.
