What are the prerequisites for declaring the major?
You are eligible to declare once you have taken a minimum of 3 courses required for the major and earned a 2.0 minimum GPA in all major courses taken and in your overall GPA. These minimal requirements coincide with the eligibility requirements to register for senior internships and to graduate. All students enter the major either through the Applied Kinesiology Option or the Sport Management Option. After entering through the Applied Kinesiology Option and once they have earned a minimum GPA of 2.85 in a minimum of 12 credits required for their preferred science option, science-oriented students can go on to select either the Exercise Science Option or the Exercise Physiology Option as long as they have earned LESS THAN 90 credits. Students who have 90 credits OR MORE must maintain a major GPA of 3.0 to remain in the Exercise Science and Exercise Physiology Options.
