What are the premedical course requirements?
The prerequisite courses for medical school admission are: English and two semesters each of General Biology, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Calculus and Physics. Some schools recommend a second English course. All schools value strong communication skills. Biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, developmental biology and other specific courses may also be recommended. As the American Association of Medical Colleges reports, “there has been remarkably little change in premedical course requirements since 1975.
