What are the possible Side Effects?
Common Side Effects Like all medicines, Zmax may cause some side effects. Side effects in Zmax clinical studies were generally mild to moderate. The most common side effects were: Diarrhea/loose stools1 Nausea1 Stomach pain1 For patients who took Zmax and got diarrhea, most cases of diarrhea went away by day 2. Less Common Side Effects Other less-common side effects reported with Zmax were: Headache Vomiting Patients who vomit within the first hour of taking Zmax should contact their doctor.1 IMPORTANT: Allergic Reactions May Occur Zmax is not for patients who have allergies to some antibiotics. You should always tell your doctor if you have allergic reactions to medicines. Get emergency help right away if you have: Hives, trouble swallowing, or your face or throat swells after taking Zmax Wheezing or trouble breathing after taking Zmax These symptoms could go away and then come back. Although many patients report few if any side effects, you may experience slight reddening and local swelling and some temporary discoloration of the skin around the treatment site, which usually resolves in 5-7 days. When treating leg veins, the discoloration, or purpura, may last from 7-14 days. Some patients may experience bruising and, in rare instances, blistering may occur. Unlike other methods of treatment, the laser greatly reduces the potential for scarring or changes in the skin texture. Also, depending on your skin type, and the site and size of lesion treated, some patients may experience a temporary brown discoloration of the skin for a few weeks following treatment.
