What are the possible business consequences of using neural networks without assurances of their reliability?
The possible consequences of using any technology without some substantial reason to believe it can be relied upon to perform its intended function, start at complete and abject failure. It depends entirely upon just how integral that technology is to your design, how much effort is required to make it reliable, and/or how readily it can be replaced with something else. It also depends on how much the developer is willing/able to invest, how realistic the project budget was to begin with, and how viable the market for the resulting product happens to be.
