What are the Positive Effects of Red Ribbon Week?
Red Ribbon Week is celebrated internationally now. It is a chance to bring awareness of not only the dangers of drugs but the unscrupulous nature of those who sell the drugs. It is a chance to celebrate our ability to say no and to refuse drugs and also to turn away from drugs once we have tried them. The most positive effect is awareness. So very many people have had loved ones who have succumbed to drugs but many of them have made it through and back to being drug free. It brings awareness of drugs and the dangers of drugs to children and adults alike. At some point in their lives, children will be approached about drugs. The information they get and the impact Red Ribbon Week makes just may make enough of an impact to make them turn down the drugs. Red Ribbon Week is about celebration. Why do we celebrate Red Ribbon Week? There are baseball games, community events and even small fairs which all have a positive effect.
