Theres really not any positive factors of population growth, but you could stretch as far to say that more people, spend more money which will in turn help to develop new property for the ever expanding world population. Where as the disadvantages are pretty huge; More people, means more food needed – Which in turn creates a bigger food consumption within the Earth. As a result, people will starve. The Earth is not an ever expanding planet, meaning we will eventually run of out room. Going further into this, we will end up in cramped conditions.
