(As with the law, ignorance of these policies is not a defense for their abuse, whether intentional, or not.) In addition to these policies, local computer management has instituted the following: • Users should refrain from consuming food/drink in the lab. • Documentation should not be removed from the lab or the computing management offices. Under certain circumstances, you may “check out” documentation by contacting the computer facility director, in person. • Never turn equipment off; ask the operator on duty for assistance with equipment problems. Equipment abuse will not be tolerated. • Computer users have priority to chairs; people using lab chairs while observing others must relinquish their chairs to those users who are actually accessing the system.
