What are the plans if the Queen dies just before or during the London Olympics?.?
Life is a gamble. The plans, as I understand them are to celebrate the jubilee in the first week of June, and begin the Olympics on the 3rd week of July. Coronations are frequently held much later, and would likely be delayed until Christmas. Her health is good, and she is expected to have a wonderful jubilee. Prince Philip is 5 years older and will have his 91st birthday during the celebrations. His father died at age 62, his grandfather was murdered at age 67, and his great grandfather died at age 87. As far as I know, he has now outlived all of his known ancestors for several generations. I think after 2012 she will reduce her international travel somewhat, and let Charles go on more trips. She has already visited 56 foreign states outside of the Commonwealth. In the last decade other than her state visit to the USA in 2007, she has been going to countries in Europe for state visits. I suspect she will go to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meetings as long as she is capable, no
