What are the planned dates for the publication of harmonised European standards?
Many valve standards being produced by CEN/TC 69 Industrial valves will not be published and harmonised by 29th May 2002. Question BVAMA 7/I BVAMA PED Forum 28th March 2001 Question related to : Annex I, section 4.1.(a) and section 7.5 Question asked by : David Rouse of Velan Statement:- Commonly specified materials for valve shells include:- ASTM-A216-WCB Steel castings for high temperature service ASTM-A105 Carbon steel forgings for piping applications ASTM-A352-various grades Steel castings for Low temperature service ASTM-A350-various grades Carbon steel forgings requiring Notch toughness Neither WCB nor A105 has requirements for notch toughness testing. A352 and A350 grades are however specified with notch toughness values on account of their low temperature capabilities.
